A global Safety Perception Survey (SPS™) to measure improvements

Published on Oct 30, 2024

Challenge

Saint-Gobain Ceramics has been evaluating its safety culture over several years while implementing global programmes. They’ve observed that one of the key challenges is the variation in cultural practices across locations, and they aimed to gain deeper insights into the underlying reasons to build and unify safety culture at Saint-Gobain Ceramics on a global level.

Solution

dss+ and Saint-Gobain Ceramics rolled out the Safety Perception Survey (SPS™) globally to assess improvements in safety culture and the impact of current programmes. Leveraging our proprietary best-in-class database, dss+ benchmarked Saint-Gobain Ceramics’ performance against industry best practices, internal standards, and their own progress over the years, identifying both improvements and gaps. The insights from this survey enabled dss+ and Saint-Gobain Ceramics to design targeted support strategies for specific locations, further enhancing their overall safety initiatives.

“dss+ Safety Perception Survey is a necessary tool to measure the safety culture at sites. It enables the definition of both local and central strategies to improve our performance.”

– Olivier Bouquin EHS director at Saint-Gobain Ceramics
